Benn on vacation

We just got back last night from a family vacation. Benn did great despite being out of his normal routine. We had a few incidences. For example I broke my no sugar rule and gave him and the other little kids a 1/2 of a smore. Well that kicked him into overdrive wanting more and more and he waited till I got busy with the fire, and comendeered his sister Kate (what is it about those two in cahoots!) to go steal some marshmallows out of the bag. Lucky for them they have a mommy who is on top of the game most of the time!!!! I saw what they were up to. Altho I have used this as a place to vent, I DO NEED to make this a place to share his successes toooooo!!!! I love my Benn!

School Update With Benn

OK SO, we finally have things worked out. The mising link, no one was meeting him at the bus. SO now we have a full time aide from bus to bus all day long! NOW things are working. He is doing great! He is growing so much so quick! He is thriving. I knew he would. At least I hoped he would! I figured once we get the right setting around him he would! I love his teacher, and I know one of his aides, and she is great too. SO this is finally a success story.

Getting Kate In Trouble

Kate poured water on Ben outside.

He told on Kate.

I asked Kate *again* to not pour water on him, asked her to sit in timeout

30 min later Ben comes to me wet.

"Kate poured water on me, look you can see my pants are wet again"

He was to giddy. I could tell it was a lie.

When someone taddles on Kate she screems.

She was busy playing on the other side of the yard with her sister.

I could tell Ben was lying.

I finally got him to admit the truth.

He wanted Kate to get in trouble.

He is so calculating.

Update. New School Year. Fiasco Already

This has been quite a week with lots of ups and downs!

* We went to an immunologist. We feel it went well, and clearly this doctor knows what he is talking about, and we feel like we are going to get the help we need. Basically in a nut shell, after loads of testing, (still more coming) they are treating Benn as if he has CF (cystic fibrosis) even tho we know he does NOT have that. He gets sick just like those kids. We will be starting some medications and hope they get is thru this winter season.

* We have been literally fighting Benn's school dist for weeks, trying to educate them on Prader-Willi Syndrome. (eating disorder) and to get them to provide him with a one-on-one aid to follow him around. He literally has to be in line-of-site 24/7. He will do whatever it takes to get to food, and trying to get people to grasp this proves to be challenging. They are giving us a temporary aide for 2 weeks then we will reconvene at the district to see "if he needs it"

*Today, day 2 of school, he gets on the bus, tells the bus driver my stomach hurts, I didn't eat breakfast. The bus driver bought right into it. (She has had him for 2 years! She knows better!) Told his personal aide who got him off the bus he was starving, his mom didn't feed him, and proceeded to walk him into the gym where the breakfast program was going on, and FED HIM BREAKFAST! I am still so upset even now, I can't even begin to tell you! I feel like all of my educational efforts have gone unheeded. Now we will have to work 10 times as hard with Benn because he now thinks these are people he CAN con. When he is around others who he knows he can get away with things on he will focus in on only that one task. So now, instead of learning, he will be focusing in on how when where he con produce the next story. The thing they don't seem to get is Benn is a master manipulator, and con artist. His brain is telling him he is starving, he will do anything to get to that food, even if it means fabricating any lie possible!

* 7 am tomorrow morning I will be showing up at the district office trying to address this issue! Please pray that we can get to the bottom of this issue. Please pray for our everyday life, it is so challenging with him! His issues are the forethought of every-single-thing we do & places we go! Kind of like a drip of water, "it" never stops.
